Laboratorio Escénico is a performing arts company created under the cooperative Laboratorio Escénico S. Coop. Galega, known for producing shows where dance, theater, and music (among other disciplines) are used to explore social themes.

Their creations take on various formats to reach all types of spaces and audiences.

The company was founded in 2019 by Carmen Cotelo (theater director, actress, and theater educator) and Alba Fernández (dance creator, performer, and teacher of urban and contemporary dance), together with the recent addition of Alicia López (visual artist, dancer and audiovisual creator).

The cooperative was born not only to create the company but also to open the Laboratorio Escénico Coop Arts Center—a space for training, creation, research, and development of the performing arts in A Coruña.

The center offers high-quality dance, theater, and music education for all ages and levels. It also serves as a professional hub for performing artists, functioning as a multidisciplinary space for creation and collaboration.

Among its highlights are the Theater and Movement Labs and the Interdisciplinary Improvisation Labs, where the arts are explored freely in a constant process of experimentation and research.
